For this full exterior renovation, we installed new windows, siding, and gutters to improve both the performance and appearance of the home. In the bedrooms, the existing twin awning windows did not meet egress requirements, so we lowered the sills to comply with International and State Building Code laws, ensuring safe and code-compliant openings.
We removed the old siding and installed new building wrap for proper water management, followed by 3/4” polystyrene rigid insulation to increase the home’s R-value and overall energy efficiency. A custom bug guard was fabricated to cap the new insulation and plywood sheathing, then sealed to the foundation for long-term protection.
For the window and door upgrades, we used Harvey vinyl windows and Harvey entry doors, replacing the outdated wood units with high-efficiency, low-maintenance alternatives. PVC exterior casings were added to ensure the exterior trim will never rot, making the home virtually maintenance-free.
Inside, we provided the homeowner with multiple paint and stain options to finish the new interior wood trim to their preferred style.
